The 2012 festival will take place on October 6th and 7th. The festival runs from 10am-5pm and includes the "Green Village" on Saturday and Sunday which features scores of groups that celebrate the river in a wide vairety of ways, children’s activities including pony rides (for a fee), an arts and crafts show and food court, musical performances, an open house at the Calvert Marine Museum,and a Parade at 2:00 on Sunday. Free harbor cruises will be offered on board 2 historic vessels: the 112 year old bugeye, Wm. B. Tennison, the sailing skipjack the Nathan of Dorchester.
Admission to the event is free; financial support is given by Calvert County Government, a donation from GenOn Eastern and monies brought in by the food court and craft show booth fees.
Excess funds are returned to the community in the form of grants.
